Richwill has been restoring our beautiful barn for the past 3 years we thought you might like to know what has happened....

Richwill Barn 2015
Richwill Farm was purchased in 2015 by Peter and Sarah Barnard.  The buildings within the 13 acre disused farm were in desperate need of some refurbishment.  The main barn is a 19th Century Essex Barn and at the time of purchase came complete with a barn owl and 2 walls being held up by hay bales and construction acros! The floor in the barn was a mixture of mud and sand and most of the beams and walls were in a state of disrepair.  Peter and Sarah saw the potential of this once great barn and decided to make it into a wedding venue.  Having received planning permission from Tendring District Council and with the help of Essex Wildlife Trust, the resident owl was found a suitable home and work began on rebuilding the barn in 2016.  After months of planning, building and designing, the barn has now been fully restored.  The restoration utilised as many original features and reclaimed materials wherever possible and has now been transformed into a stunning venue.   There are still plans and work to be carried out at the site but all good things come to those who wait...
